Exceptional owners who care about the quality of their food! My favorite dishes continue to be the spicy crispy chicken with a side of hot oil and the chicken potstickers! Yum
Great food, lots of food, and service was fast and courteous! Busy place! I will go again!
I was disappointed recently when I ordered the same meal and it was significantly different. I appreciate consistency so, I haven't returned.
I love this place. I started at the downtown store and went to lunch there once a week. Teriyaki chicken is my favorite. When I retired they were so nice to open a North Fresno restaurant close to me. Andre and Silvia, the owners, are the best!!. Good food, great service, and wonderful staff. What's not to like?
My first visit to order, pay and eat inside, and it was a pretty good one. Clean, simple decor, & tasty food. It is like a Japanese Fast Food cute stop to pop on in & grub on some freshness. I enjoyed the Teriyaki Tofu Plate. I will say that for being literally the only customers when a group of 7 of us entered at 4:00pm on a weekday, our food did take a bit longer than expected. That improved timing would have gotten this place that final star. However, my food was correct, delicious...and...yeah, I had nothing to take home for leftovers, so there ya go! Thanks- I will be back again!
We really waffled on scoring this place. The place itself is unremarkable, and has no particular ambiance. It kind of looks like what it is: Japanese fast food. It's clean, relatively comfortable and big. But the food is what tipped the fourth star. After all, your going out to EAT. We had the Teriyaki Salmon and the Crispy Chicken, and a side of Tempura Shrimp and vegetables. All of the food was well prepared, fairly well presented and very good. Service was OK. We're not fans of meals at the same table served at different times, but the food was at table fairly quickly, and the orders were accurate. We would not go to Fresno to eat at this place, but if we were already downtown, we might well drop in again.
First time visiting Kikku!! This restaurant is in downtown Fresno. My daughter wanted to try this place. We were browsing on Yelp and we came across this place because we were going to be in down town. My daughter said It has good reviews. I told her yes! It looks good to me. She ordered on the phone. The girl was helpful and quick. We got to Kikku in 15 min and food was ready. They provided napkins sauce and my daughter grabbed some chopsticks to eat her food. The place was very clean and they have plenty of seating tables. They have a variety of sushi, salads and bowls. I want to go back en explore the menu more in deep to see what can I get. My daughter got teriaky chicken with steam rice and it came with salad. She finished everything. She said "Mom 5 out of 5." So there you go. Great flavor.
Finally tried this popular lunch spot. Takes about 10 minutes or so to walk here from work and I love that you can order ahead. They even have their own app, but the two times I came here I ordered off their website. It's straight forward, easy and you can choose your pickup time so you can order further in advance. The first time I came here it was pretty busy with takeout and others ordering in line. They get a lot of takeout so you just go up to the front counter and they'll hand you your order. I'll have to try something new eventually, but both times I got the Downtown spicy chicken. Unlike their other crispy spicy chicken, this one isn't deep fried or breaded. It's healthier, but so delicious. The meat is fully coated (maybe even marinated? Or it's just that well coated) in delicious spicy seasoning/ sauce. It's not swimming in sauce which is nice, but transfers nicely on rice. Don't get if you can't handle your spice. I'd say I have a medium spicy tolerance. While it's spicy, it's not SPICY. I can best describe it as a buildable and somewhat addictive heat. When you first eat it I don't think the spiciness registers, but as you eat more and more of it, your mouth is just enveloped in layers of heat. I don't like when my food is too spicy to even taste it or it makes you cough or uncomfortable. This is perfect levels for me. The first time I ordered food I didn't even realize there was a small side of salad as my lettuce was completely plain. The second time I got dressing. I love the spicy sauce they give along with the chicken. Not sure if it's spicy teriyaki or a special blend, but I like it better than the regular teriyaki sauce. Definitely recommend this place. And if you come during peak lunch hours, order ahead or anticipate waiting a little.
